working principle
Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane is a symmetrical membrane made of polymer materials by special process. It is in the shape of hollow capillaries and thin tubes, and its wall is densely covered with micropores. Under the action of pressure, the stock solution flows in the membrane. The solvent or small molecular substances in it can pass through the membrane and be collected to become ultrafiltration fluid, while the macromolecular substances and colloidal particles in it are blocked on the surface of the membrane, and are taken away by the circulating stock solution to become concentrated solution, so as to achieve the purpose of separation, concentration and purification of substances. The typical pore size of ultrafiltration membrane is between 0.01-0.1 μ m, and it has a high removal rate for bacteria and most viruses, colloid, sludge, etc. The smaller the nominal pore size of the membrane, the higher the removal rate.
